1. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Family von Falckenberg lived in the estate of Palttilaholm in Laitila since the 1630s. Palttilaholm was donated to the Lieutenant-Colonel Gottfrid Hansson von Falckenberg on 9th June 1630. Gottfrid von Falckenberg was born around 1590 in Heinrichsdorf, Germany. He moved from the Baltic to South West Finland. Gottfrid von Falckenberg died already in 1634, and the deceased was buried in the medieval church of Laitila. The widow Kristina von Jordan (born 1610 in Westfalen, Germany) stayed in Palttilaholm. Her father was major Mikael von Jordan.

2. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Gottfried von Falckenberg and Kristiina von Jordan had son Johan Gottfrid von Falckenberg. He was born in the estate of Vuojoki in Eura on 30th May 1626. Johan Gottfrid von Falckenberg joined the Swedish Army and became major. In 1663 he resigned from the armed forces. After that he served in the Court of Appeal (Hovioikeus) in Turku and the jurisdictional district of Käkisalmi in Eastern Finland. He died in 1674. The widow was Anna Barbara von Tiesenhausen (died in 1714 at the age of 79).  The Swedish Crown took back the donation lands from the nobility in the 1680s. That is how Palttilaholm was taken back to the State and the widow became poor.

3. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Anna Barbara Tiesenhausen’s son cornet Johan Gottfrid von Falckenberg tried to get back the family estate in Untamala, Laitila in the 1690s. However, the attempt did not succeed. Johan Gottfrid von Falckenberg died during the Great Wrath in 1718. The Russians occupied the whole of Finland. They also burned the estate of Palttilaholm in Laitila. Almost all von Falckenbergs escaped over the Gulf of Bothnia to Sweden.

4. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Johan Gottfrid von Falckenberg and Anna Elisabeth von Jordan had a girl Anna Barbara von Falckenberg (1706-1774) who stayed in South West Finland. He got married with hired man Eric Thomasson on 2nd July 1728. Eric Thomasson was working for the Palttilaholm estate. They had hurry to marriage as Anna Barbara gave birth to a baby already on 16th February 1728 in Laitila. The boy was christened as Matts (Matti). Eric Thomasson was recruited to the Swedish Army in the 1730’s and he became Corporal Eric Holmstedt. Corporal Holmstedt died in the 1740’s. He had seven children. The youngest was Helena Juliana who was born in Hinnerjoki on 9th March 1741.

5. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Corporal Eric Holmstedt and Anna Barbara von Falckenberg (1706-1774) got daughter Anna Barbro Ericsdotter Holmstedt (1730-1812).

This daughter was married to crofter Henrick Johanssonin (s.16.10.1739). The couple lived in Kalanti (Uusikirkko) in South West Finland.

6. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Crofter Henrick Johansson and Anna Barbro Johansdotter Holmstedt lived in a small croft of Perhe in Edväinen, Kalanti. Later they moved to the island of Ytter close to the town of Uusikaupunki (Nystad). In Ytter island they got these children:

Helena Juliana s.20.9.1766

Henrica s.28.1.1770

Zacharias s.1.8.1773

7. GENERATION IN FINLAND

 

Henrika Heikintytär (1770-1818) was married with Erkki Simonpoika (born 1772 in Pyhämaa). The husband was from Sora farm in Kuivarauma.  In Kammela village they got daughter Albertina on 15th April 1809.
